Baby Care Basics

This single session workshop will cover all the essentials of caring for your baby including baby feeding & sleep cycles, diapering, swaddling, bathing, soothing with the 5 S’s, circumcision, umbilical cord care, and early postpartum recovery.

Labor & Birth

this two-session workshop will cover the labor and birth process including an overview of the physiological process of labor, birth & recovery, the support person’s role, comfort measures for pregnancy, labor & birth, breathing and relaxation techniques, positions to promote labor progress, effective pushing, common hospital practices, labor medications, induction and augmentation of labor, cesarean birth, early post-partum and recovery.

Breastfeeding Basics

This single session workshop will cover beginning breastfeeding with your baby including how to get started, positioning to optimize latch, feeding & sleeping patterns, hunger & satiation cues, promoting a good milk supply and more.

About the Instructor - Sharon Curtin-Bottomley

Sharon has been working with expecting parents and new families for more than 14 years as a registered nurse, lamaze and hypnobirthing certified educator and board certified lactation consultant . Beyond her depth of experience, sharon also brings a warmth, compassion, and open-mindedness to her workshops to allow each expecting and new parent the comfort and confidence to make their own individual parenting choices. labor, delivery, and early post-partum. phases of parenthood. join her in her Labor & Birth, Baby Care Basics and Breastfeeding basics workshops.

Baby CPR & Family Safety

Led by save a little life, Family and Friends Pediatric CPR and Home Safety is intended for individuals with limited or no medical training. This course includes an essential review of safe practices in the home to lower risk of common household accidents, a CPR discussion, demonstration, and instruction. Participants will use life-sized mannequins to learn and practice the basics of how to perform CPR and clear an airway obstruction.

**This is a non-certification course. No cards are offered, however a Letter of Completion from Save a Little Life, can be given upon request.**

Founded in 1999 by richard pass, R.N., Save A Little Life ™  is a leader in providing a simpler, more user-friendly CPR course focused specifically on Pediatric CPR and household Safety. Each Save a little life instructor is a qualified Registered Nurse who has been certified to teach CPR and life-saving courses by the American Heart Association, and all have extensive clinical hospital experience

4th Trimester Secrets

Secrets of managing the first 3 newborn months including keeping intimacy alive, the importance of self care, fending off expectations about how you should feel or how you should parent, bouncing back physically, and more. The workshop will also include daily tricks and tips to get you through the first few months.

Synthia used her masters degree in psychology and more than 15 years of practical experience to lead expecting and new parent workshops. These workshops are designed to provide a community to explore your identity and personal evolution as you embark on your parenting journey. in a warm, open, and supportive environment. these workshops empower parents to feel comfort and confidence in their new parenting decisions and often lead to new friendships with others taking the same journey.
