Dry Cereal Sensory Fun With Leftovers

Don’t let stale or just expired crackers or dry cereal go to waste - turn it into a fun sensory bin. It’s easy to make and you don’t need to buy a thing! It’s beautiful and feels amazing when it falls between your fingers. If its a vanilla or other flavored cracker or cereal it might even smell great too!

Recipe.

  • Using a food processor or kitchen mallet, crush a few cups of crackers or dry cereal to make your sensory base

  • Add the crumbs to a baby safe bowl or pan

  • Add a baby spoon and bowl for scooping, mixing & pouring

  • Add a few small baby safe toys. We like to borrow a rubber duck or other toy from your babe’s bathtub toy collection

  • Hide a few baby safe whole cereal pieces or pieces of teething crackers and make it a hide and seek too!

Toddler Add-On (Ages 3+)

If your toddler is 3+ and past the stage of exploring everything by taste, you can add bead, buttons or other small items for them to find. We also like to give toddlers baby safe tweezers to let them try to pick up the smaller parts with the tweezer.

Important Tip: We recommend setting out a flat bed sheet
where you’re planning to play to make the clean up easy.
